Snoppa Rover is a revolutionary cinema dolly that has an electronic stabilization system for all terrain. It can drive and shoot stably and smoothly on various uneven roads. Rover can be driven manually or move automatically along a preset path. With a load capacity of up to 15 kg (33 lbs) , a series of control interfaces, and an image transmission module, Snoppa Rover can load and control most of the popular cameras including mirrorless, DSLRs, cinema cameras etc., allowing you to remotely control both the dolly’s movement and camera shooting, and live preview your shots through your phone or tablet.
Gyroscope Sensor
Mechanical Spring
Synchronous Belt
High Torque Motor
All existing camera dollies currently on the market can only move and shoot on a flat and smooth surface without any damping function. This makes scenarios where camera dollies are used very limited.
Snoppa Rover is a next-generation dolly that it is equipped with a unique active damping system for the first time.
Each wheel arm has an independent gyroscopic sensor, a Hall sensor, and an accelerometer. These can detect instantaneous attitude change of Rover’s body within 30 nanoseconds, and drive the brushless motor to reversely compensate within 50 nanoseconds. This ensures stable movement - on any surface.

Reduction Gear
Typically three-wheel-dollies only use one wheel to change directions. The problem with using one wheel is that it needs to travel via a curve to change direction. This requires more space and reduces the flexibility and use of traditional dollies.
With Snoppa Rover, each wheel is equipped with an independent steering motor, and can turn 360 degrees in place. This means that Rover's movement and steering can be controlled separately, and introduces maximum flexibility for framing.

By using an adaptive PID algorithm, the Rover achieves precise control of speed. This means that, in addition to the Rover's Z-axis compensation, its wheels also compensate for planar jitter and avoid external disturbances to the body speed. Therefore, regardless of obstacles or sudden changes in movement speed, the Rover's body can ensure the stability and smoothness of the shooting images.
Rover’s moving speed is up to 8m/s, allowing crew to follow a fast moving object with ease.

Snoppa Rover has a payload capacity of up to 15kg. This opens up Rover for use with a wide range of popular mirrorless cameras, DSLRs, and cinema cameras available on the market now and in the future. By adjusting the unique load knob on the dolly you can adapt any equipment under 15kg and tune it for the best results.
When using a gimbal/stabilizer, the quality of the motional footage completely relies on the operator ’s moving skill and physical strength, which is a quite tiring job. Snoppa Rover is just like an intelligent ground shooting robot that can automatically move stably on the ground and shoot smoothly, without the need of manually holding a heavy camera and walking carefully to keep the pace.
It is usually very risky to fly a drone in a narrow space at a low altitude especially when equipped with a heavy and expensive camera. For some occasions that requires on-site audio recording, the big noise made by the drone would be destructive. In addition, very few cameras and lens can be equipped on a drone. For these occasions, Rover is obviously a better solution.
The setup of a dolly track is always time consuming and requires more manpower. Once setup it’s hard to modify. Setup Rover is much quicker and it’s much easier to modify the moving path at anytime .
Compared with the gimbal/stabilizer, using a bigger steadicam can help to eliminate the jitter in z-axis caused by the walking actions on a bumpy road, but it’s usually too heavy and not easy to hold it for working a long time. Rover can eliminate the jitter both on z-axis and x-y axis without the need of high human physical strength.
Rover's unique electronic structure and design for each wheel gives it adaptive steering control and dynamic power control. This provides the camera crew with maximum flexibility for camera movement.
For Dolly in/out or Truck left/right movement effects.
Use the app to control Rover while taking tracking shots or moving as you see fit.
Provides a constant rate of motion while fully or semi-encircling the subject at a fixed distance.
Pre-programming a defined shooting path with the ability to save it as a template.
Use lock mode to maintain camera direction when a fixed shooting angle is needed while moving. You can manually or remotely control the direction of the Rover's movement, while the direction the camera is pointed will always remain the same.
Follow mode is the most commonly used mode. The body/camera direction will change in real time with the direction of movement.
Target lock mode can be selected when shooting a target in a fixed position with the need for flexible movement. The dolly will keep the camera lens facing this target at all times while moving, and the target will remain in the center of the frame.
When the need to track a person or a moving object arises during a shoot - Snoppa Rover's " Smart Object Tracking " will become the best member of your crew. For example, if you want to do a self tracking shot, you don't need another crew member present to operate. You can leave it to Rover to perform the tracking while saving manpower. Smart tracking is much more convenient and accurate while capturing footage as opposed to manual control tracking shooting. Not only are you saving labor, money, and time - you are also able to get the exact shot you want, and can repeat it endlessly.
Snoppa Rover has three driving methods——App, Transmitter and Handle Control.
Boasting a user-friendly interface that allows a tablet/phone control of all the ways Rover can move and control of the camera - the app also provides a preview of the feed and template-based operations.
The app supports both iOS and Android systems.
Enjoy the feel of physical controls more? No problem, Rover supports transmitter use for control. With the receiver plugged into the Rover's extension port, the dolly can be remotely controlled from the transmitter.
For those seeking control via your fingertips, use a handle designed specifically for Rover.
Consider that when shooting in an indoor studio, you may prefer to operate at close range for a more intuitive sense of control. A dedicated Holder is designed for the Rover, which senses the direction of your hand pressure output to achieve real-time response, such as movement and rotation. This ensures that you can enjoy stress-free and highly accurate control even when operating manually.
Rover is designed to help video crews achieve better results with minimum manpower. By integrating Rover's movement control, camera control, and image preview into one app, and combining it with a tablet mobile terminal for remote operation, it becomes a fully functional wireless workbench.
Rover is more than just an electric cinema dolly. The perfect combination of powerful built-in hardware and AI technology ensures that you can easily preview camera footage while shooting. You can dial in ISO, WB, EV compensation, aperture, and shutter speed at the same time.
In filming work, it is often necessary to repeat what has been shot before. And if you need to reprogram the path of each shooting position point of the dolly, it will be a huge headache and hassle, and the accuracy of the repetition will not be secured.
With that in mind, we've optimized Rover's path planning settings - introducing the feature of Time Reversal.
For path planning, you can set the movement path visually by directly moving the cart's position manually, and Rover will automatically memorize the path and position nodes of your movement. When it is necessary to repeat the shooting afterwards, this path can be directly retrieved to accurately reproduce the motion track.
Timelapse shots have become one of the most compelling shots to incorporate into a video as they not only grab attention but help with storytelling. Rover allows you to easily control timelapse speed and desired interval, and also ensures shake free images over long distances.
A “walking hyper lapse” requires a camera operator to walk at a specified interval. However, it is hard to guarantee the walking speed and stability of a person when a long and wide-range walk is required.
Rover can easily move on a set path and at a set speed - including around corners and over bumps, bringing more creative freedom to your hyperlapse.
Rover was designed from scratch, and during this process we have experienced more than a dozen cycles of “design, push down, redesign”. We have repeatedly tested more than 300 customized parts, and finally achieved the final features of Rover.

We designed Rover with two battery packs that operate in parallel to increase battery capacity. This means that if either pack runs out of power it can simply be replaced with a new one without delaying the shot in the progress as it always stays powered on. This design not only increases Rover’s working duration, but also helps to conform to travel rules surrounding batteries - such as on airplanes.
Rover not only can be quickly folded, it also has a very good design to have a grip to go easy for you to carry.
